Over time, Old Ladies were the basis of many legends. In fact these are just some rock formations, a touristic and geological monument located near the tip of Baba Mare (altitude 2292 m) in the central - northern of Bucegi Mountains.
From a geological point of view, Old Ladies (having the form of "mushrooms"), are actually showing wind and water erosion of cretaceous conglomerates and sandstones. Scientists say that the modelers agents of the Old Ladies were supported by water, wind, freezing and thawing.
Old Ladies represent a geomorphic monument that you should not miss it if you're in the Prahova Valley. Access is possible by cable car from Bușteni (cable Bușteni - Old Ladies) or by foot from Bușteni to Jepilor Valley. From the Old Ladies monument can be reached very easily Omu Peak (2,505 m), Peștera or Caraiman Cross.
