What is ecotourism?

We all know what tourism is, but perhaps at a moment we all wondered exactly what is ecotourism. The answer is quite simple. Ecotourism is a component of sustainable tourism, a form of tourism developed in protected areas (natural parks, national parks, geoparks etc), in order to know and observe nature (plants, animals, geological phenomena), but also historical and cultural heritage.

Ecotourists prefer this experience because of their interest in nature, for all that is beautiful, untouched and wild: plants, animals, geological sites, natural phenomena. An important role in the life and activities of ecotourism is nature: observation of animals and birds, of erupting volcanoes, of fossils from paleontological sites, but also cultural heritage and traditions in certain areas, boating, equestrian tourism, cycling, hiking. And almost always they prefer to stay in a tent or cottage rather than a hotel and take advantage of certain features.

Ecotourism is an unforgettable experience and it worth a try at least once in your life!
